Summer Show Intensives: 15/08 - 24/08

SUMMER SHOW INTENSIVES!
This Summer we are putting on not one but TWO musicals in 10 days!
The students will rehearse and perform them at the brand new KTCo Studios.
This intensive is open to students internally and external non-KTCo students.
Places on the intensive are given via audition only.

MATILDA INFORMATION

Open to students 8-15 (approx) and we will be looking for 16+ to play the adult roles within this show (such as Miss Honey, Trunchball, Wormwoods and so on…)
Students will rehearse from 10:00 – 16:00 everyday and there will be scheduled day/time off in line with theatrical licensing.
Performances will take place on Saturday 24th August at 13:00 & 16:00 – limited tickets will be on sale closer to the time.

CHICAGO INFORMATION

Open to students 16+ (approx) with a technical dance background
Students will rehearse from 12:00 – 20:00 everyday and there will be scheduled day/time off in line with theatrical licensing.
Performances will take place on Friday 23rd & Saturday 24th August at 19:30 – limited tickets will be on sale closer to the time.

Audition Information…

Auditions will take place at KTCo Studios (address below) on Sunday 9th June from 10:00-13:00 (Chicago) and 14:00-17:00 (Matilda). The audition will consist of a dance workshop with the choreographer and individual singing auditions.

The Summer intensives cost £240 for KTCo Students and £295 for External Students.

Once we have received your application, we shall be in contact towards end of April regarding what to prepare for the audition. If you haven’t received this information by the 1st May, please do contact us.

Matilda & Chicago

  • Matt Powell

    Matt is a non-binary creative with over ten years of experience crafting a variety of theatrical productions in a variety of roles. They have a strong passion for creating unforgettable entertainment, bold in design, vision and joy. Whilst most recently has taken over the west-end with critical acclaim for their video design work, Matt also has a wealth of knowledge when it comes Youth Theatre. They use to run Creatio Arts in Derbyshire before going to train at Royal Central School of Speech & Drama. We are so excited to have them on board to direct both of these shows!

  • Lauren Polimos

    Lauren joined KTCo in September 2023 as a private singing teacher to many students. She later joined the Junior Youth Company and became their MD after Easter 2024. We can't wait for her to work on Matilda JR with us this Summer!

  • Kristian Cunningham

    Creative Director Kristian launched KTCo Studios back in 2016 and since has gone on to work with the Senior Youth Company and KTCollege students so is looking forward to getting into the rehearsal room with the younger talent in the company!

  • Charlotte Daniel

    Charlotte recently worked with our adult company, KTCollective, on their production of Sweet Charity. She is also a regular MD for Derby Youth Musical Theatre as well as various other musical jobs! We are so excited to have Charlotte's knowledge and skillset on board for our older students.

  • Sam Holden

    Sam started their journey with KTCo back in 2018 with their production of Grease! They then headed off to train at the prestigious Laine Theatre Arts. Since graduating they have gone on to perform professionally in White Christmas, The Cher Show and is currently starring in Hamilton.
