Kristian Thomas Collective

Kristian Thomas Collective (formerly Kristian Thomas Adult Elite Company) was formed in May 2016.The company made their debut with their production of ‘Our House’ and then went onto perform across various locations in both Nottingham and Derby; including an immersive production of ‘RENT’ in an converted church and a premiere of Lin Manuel Miranda’s ‘In The Heights’. The collective then returned back to The Duchess Theatre in April 2018 and have made home there since building a fantastic, supportive and dedicated audience fanbase.

The group have been nominated for various awards from Best Musical for their productions of ‘Footloose’, ‘Evita’ and then won for their performance of ‘The Addams Family’. Along with their win, they were also nominated for Outstanding Achievement for the choreography in their production of ‘Grease’.

So what do we do? We are a community theatre group who put on productions 2-3 times a year. They rehearse in a shorter space of time than a standard ‘Amateur Dramatics Society’, making the process a little more intensive, usually allowing approximately 8-12 weeks to put a show on. The performances are produced to a professional standard and perform to sell out audiences.

What do we look for in a member? We are looking for someone who is not only very talented but extremely dedicated to being a company member. From helping out, supporting other sectors of the company, joining in on social events and attending youth productions. We initially set up our company for performers who were in between professional jobs or on a break from their professional training and have since gone on to invite a high calibre of performer from across the midlands. We audition sporadically throughout the year and productions are usually cast by the Creative Team without audition but on the occasions we have more than one option we will hold auditions – all information can be found as and when on this page and also our social media.
